    crank chain wont go on cam sprocket



    I'm trying to get the chain on part #4. I do have a 0.140" MLS but it isnt even close to coming on. its a good half inch off. I have the tensioner taken off so shouldn't it just work?

    Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

    Yea it should.
    Take the sprocket off of the cam and put the chain on the sprocket. Then you should be able to wiggle the sprocket onto the cam.

      tried that. its a good half inch too far away from getting on... I'm puzzled.

          it was on the engine when I got it so it fit once.

                I think the chain isn't on the snout of the crank correctly.

                  but enough for that much space? Thats after ive rotated the crank to get enough slack.
