FUCK! im having the same problem.

I got a radiator(ment alternator), but it appears to be the later style one, i have the strut style tensioner...also im missing the top pully.

Drew, the alternator i bought looks like yours, your tensioner pully is the strut type correct? if it is than i think im good, i just need the top pully, which is 40 on realoem, which means my local bmw dealer wants 100 for it, which means im gunna have a bitch of a time finding one.

Yeah, I have the hydraulic type. Get everything you need from BMA Parts...their prices generally match realoem.

thank you drew that pic comfirms my theory, that style alternator goes with the mechanical tensioner

this style alternator, goes with the hydraulic tensioner.

was anyone able to find the alternator bolts on Realoem? i cant find them under anything, belt drive, engine electrical, anyone know?

Sorry, no. Can't find anything...I'll try and snap something of my car today...but with the rad and a/c condensor in it's a little hard to get a decent photo.

                Pretty sure they're as follows..

                Hydraulic - 07119912600 and 07119921536

Mechanical - 07119921536 (upper)...not sure what the deal is with the lower bolt. I think you're probably right about the alternator types, and that probably has something to do with the different bolts???. I know on mine I have the two really long bolts.

I KNOW I have a hydraulic tensioner. So I ordered the bolt and the pulley for it... they def don't fit tho... Parts #s are right. I must be missing something

Shiboujin/protomor: if you need one really bad, I can get one off of a motor/car at work and mail it to you.

sure! That would be great! I'm trying to get this motor started soon and this is one of the major things holding me back. I stare at it for about 10 min per day and just never get it.
