    anyway.
Yes it can be done, I hav't done this myself but I want to do to something similr with my s50 and euro intake but there will be some welding involved. I've also be told that the original brake booster is your best bet rather than changing it for a smaller one. I mean what would you rather a car that stops well or one were you saved some time getting a smaller booster???
    Heara are some pics

Now this is very informative here and actual pictures........Now just a question did the job in these picture move the Booster or just shaved the
    intake?

      OE booster -YES

I kept the stock booster and love it. I might add that I also have the M3 e30 brake and spring set-up with the 25mm master. Like was said earlier stopping these cars at speed is VERY importment . Yes I did notch the bottom of manifold as needed, I also have No shimys under the motor mounts and the trans (zf) also lined up with no shims. I also think moving the booster on the firewall is very interesting . The bottom line here is get the best brakes you can !! I LOVE my set-up . I might also add that my DD is a 91' 2/door IX which is all stock. I would not like a IX booster on my 24v swapped car ! And as for searching ,yes it's long, not hard but you would have run across the pics I posted on the booster/intake and how I handled it. Any questions ? good luck , joe

This is why it helps to have the patience to search. Thanks for trying to piss me off with your lame comments ("Junior? What are you 50 or something?). My search comment to you wasn't that serious to begin with, but I guess you can't take any ribbing and feel the need to insult people to feel better. Sigh. Whatever. Maybe one day you'll learn that searching is not that hard and your whining will stop.

I have to suggest strongly AGAINST modifying the intake manifold in way.

Matt whats your take on redrilling the firewall?

I chose to do that because I really did not want to mess with the manifold.
As making one of the intake runners smaller doesnt seem to make a whole lot of sense to me.

                stock/booster

I agree with Matt about modifing the intake if Turboing is your goal . My modifing of my intake was done by someone with 35+ years as euro tech/shop owner ,me. The 6th cyl runner is not touched and only the rear area of the maniflold is carved back by 3/4" +2" . I drilled out the rear plug to layer glass on the inside and of course the outside. I will also agree with the fact I might have chopped into my H/P . I have a built up S52 with the pistons ,cams and all parts to match stuff. These cars are great and have power to spare. Mods on cars are always a trade off and this is the path I chose to keep my stock e30 booster and the M3 brakes I love. I only read about 6 months ago about slotting the firewall. I really like the way that sounds but shit out of luck for me learing that too late. Keep up the great ideas and comments . Just my 2c ,joe

Cool. You are older than me, but probably not as much as you think.
