Don't know if you have changed the xhaust yet or not, but I'd say add an X pipe while your at it to clean up the sound.

Exhaust fixed! Got a Supersprint E30 325i cat back fitted today...it's EXACTLY what I was wanting. The car is 1000000000x better now.

The air:fuel ratios suggest no affect on top end flow, but a significant increase in bottom end flow (have had to add fuel)...excellent news all round really.

I'm hoping they'll grow on me...they're huge (3") and look a bit larger than life for my tastes...but for the difference it's made to the car, I'd put up with an 5" cannon if I had to!

Can you describe the difference? I'm running stock E36 as well with my M52B28, so I'm really interested in the change. You said you had to add fuel - what injectors are you running?
              .

I can't really make any comment on the Supersprint vs stock E36, as my E30 hasn't had an E36 exhaust fitted before...just the custom system described at the start of the thread.

                I'm running the stock M52B28 injectors...24# I believe.

Oh - I guess I misunderstood. Your original system in the pics looks like stock E36 after the custom headers.

BTW, stock M52B28 is 17lb/hr, IIRC. I'm running 21.5lb/hr, and 24lb/hr is the max most people run (same as Mustang injectors). It's my understanding that 24# is not necessary unless you are running Schricks in an S52, or FI or some other configuration demanding lots of fuel so you don't go lean in the upper RPMs.

17lbs/hr would make sense...at the moment I can't see any reason for me to use injectors large than stock M52B28.
