              The E36 M3 has a ZF transmission.

A 2.93 or 3.25 with an S52 will not lack torque.

If you have a 6 speed transmission like BeirBrennerE30, then a higher ratio diff might be in the cards, but I would prefer not turning almost 4500 rpm at 80 mph with a 3.91 and a 1:1 5th.

even without overdrive you could still do 3.64. i even bet 3.73 isnt bad. anything in the 2's is way to high.... your top speed would be over 200mph and you dont have the hp for it.

WOW, i can't imagine what it would be like to have a 3.91. Brenner, do you have any acceleration videos? Also, what's your top speed on that setup?

                          I'm running a 3.25 LSD with my obd1 s52 e30, shricks, and bolt ons. It is definitely torquey enough. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coN7uwQqAws (e36 b-caps & tires)..

Personally, for daily and occasional track use i wouldn't go over 3.46, a 3.73 MAX.

Although, i was running a 4.10 diff for a while, that was just a JOKE! the diff locked up after 5 minutes of driving the thing lol.. that's what i expected with a small case 4.10 though.. FAIL

                          -Abe.

i have vids but they are HUUUGE... im talkin gigs... and they seriously would need editing.

My top speed is over 170if i recall correctly. This is more than fast enough for an e30 that sees the street. Aero probably wont let me get that high anyway
