    well i have bad news.

    i tracked it down to rod number 2. im going to drop the oil pan again on wednesday and find out wtf is holding up my god damn chance to finally drive this fucking car.

    im tempted to buy another freaking m50 and put it in there while i fix this god damn thing.

    ugh, im pissed, disappointed and fucking tired.

    just wanted to thank everyone for chiming in to help me out :)

    Glad it worked out, I would have been pissed if it was bad. Not only because of the Refund, but also because the guy I got it from has now screwed me about four times...

    Oh yea. They usually completely collapse if they are in a head that has been pulled and allowed to sit for extended periods of time. Then no matter what you can't get them to bleed. If you try and push on the bottom side of the lifter it should easily push down slightly.

    Have you ever seen lifters completely collapse?

    With my S50, I learned to love the ticking...

    There is a VERY easy way to tell if your lifters are sticking. Rev the motor to about 3000. If they are just sticking then they shouldn't be making any sound once they pump up at higher RPM's (unless they are just bad and have completely collapsed).

    found this on bimmerforums...sounds very much like mine

    i kinda sorta forgot to soak my lifters in oil when i installed them. i just dipped them in oil and then installed. the motor sat for a long time before i started the car.

    i'm really starting to think my lifters just haven't fully "adjusted"

    i take it back...all FOUR wheels are locked up.

    WTF is this shit??

    i am running the treehouse booster and i have a very good feeling this is a booster issue.

    however, i would like to stay with this booster. has anyone had any similar experiences?

    nope definitely the rears because i lifted the car up and could barely turn them.

    it goes away after the car sits for some time...i have no idea what it is though.
