O2 sensor location with ebay headers

OK. Someone's a fucking idiot. It may be me, but I'll let the pics show my side of the story...

I'll give on the body side sensor location... it probably fits on an e36. But how the fuck is anything supposed to fit in the one facing directly into the pipe, that's 2" away? I can barely even get the plug out.

After I got done laying under my car staring at this clusterfuck for 10 minutes, I tried installing the cruise cable. The e30 cable is all kinds of wrong, so I grab the e34 cable. It's about 6"-9" to short, so of course I broke it trying to get it to fit anyway. Is the e36 cable any longer? I rigged the e30 cable to work, and it seems like it will be fine, but it's beyond halfass and I refuse to keep it like that. My issue isn't the length, it's the way it attaches to the bracket to keep the cable stationary (well, the rubber cable covering).

Yeah, i went ahead and put a new o2 sensor bung on the actual y pipe that connects the two headers into a single exhaust... the design on those SS headers seem a bit uh.. nuts.

your throttle cable seems fine, although i used my e30 one like that temporarily until i replaced it with an e36 throttle cable.

The throttle cable is fine, it's the e34 unit and fits perfectly. The cruise control cable is what I'm worried about. It's halfass and can cause major issues. It's so long, that it could jam up on the vacuum hose and stick the throttle 1/2 open. It's also not attached securely to the bracket.

I'll just weld a new bung on I guess. It's just so stupid that it pissed me off. haha

And it's a sign.. cruise control isn't meant to be e30s..!!! DUH! (JK)

and yeah, that pissed me off too, i was staring at it when i had my motor out for hours thinking WTF were they smoking when they set it up like that.

I can't tell from this pic if the sensor is resting in the bung, or if you did one hell of a job cross threading it. WTF?

The OBDII O2 sensors are much more compact. I'm sure there would not be a clearance issue with them.

              It's just resting in there...

The sensor is stripped though, it happened taking it out of the old pipe. I have a new one, but was test fitting with the junk sensor.

Are the pre cat O2 sensors from OBDII the same as the OBDI sensor (heat wattage and everything?)

I HATE when people don't use cruise control. I have a hour commute to work, all highway. I set it at 60, the speed limit is 55. I get in the right lane and chill. I'm CONSTANTLY having to pass someone, only to have them speed up right when I'm next to them, and I have to just move back over, only to have the same thing happen when the fucker slows down again. Everyone always slows down for the turns (that don't need slowed down for, it's a fucking highway), slows down for up hills, speeds up for down hills, etc.... It's so annoying.

Wow. I thought I was the only person to experience this daily!

Why does everyone merge onto the highway, immediately slide all the way into the left lane and refuse to look into their rear view mirror?

Part of my commute is on a road with two lanes each direction. Sure enough, you speed up to pass a daydreamer that's blocking a lane and suddenly that person floors it refusing to be passed.

                        Why is that?

                          Touché

I'll still use my cruise control and stay angry, because at the end of the day, I can fall asleep at night knowing I'm not contributing to this stupidity.

Exactly! The above technique works better when your engine is larger than theirs.
