    Oil pans and skid plates

Did some researching and the stock skid plate will fit a s52 swapped e30, thing is what other routes are there besides the oem skid plate? has anybody tried making a skid plate? one that doesn't SIT on the oil pan itself, one that actually absorbs impact?

Post pics of your setups if you have them.. i'm really not liking how close my oil pan is to the ground, maybe a couple inches... I know you can avoid most issues if you don't drive like a d-bag.. but there is that occasional "i'm in 1 lane and theres a BIG mother fuckin rock in the road" insidents.. which have happened to me b4..

Just looking out for the future, so uhm.. any ideas?

This is what I was going to suggest. He makes an aluminum one and a steel one.

I have ejnight's plate installed and would highly recommend it. Saved my bacon on a back road this summer that I was unfamiliar with. Would have had a broken pan for sure. See pics...

Yup, I wouldnt go with the aluminum one, and I think he may not offer them due to strength integrity issues.

Agreed. The steel one is only like 5lbs heavier too.

At least it was the skid plate and not the oil pan!

Small sink hole on an unfamiliar road. And in case you haven't ever seen my car, its probably one of the stiffest/lowest on the board. I like it rough. And that was only one impact.
