    E36 Wiring harness info

    I Dont have a book on the E36 wirirng harness, only the M20.
    I know there is one plug for the fuse box, one for diagnostics. So what is the other one for?
    What plugs can be removed and what wiring needs to be done to make this happen.
    Thanks fellas.

    I posted most of the harness wire colors and ID as a picture under my profile. I can e-mail you the complete spreadsheet, as well. ID each one by peeling back the boot at the connector and match wire colors to the plug. Label the plug.

    The ones that can be snipped are traction control and automatic transmission, if you have them.

    The big ones are the X20 and diagnostics plugs, you want to keep those.

      If you can send me that info it would be great.

      My e-mail is Sk8trhockman @ aol . Com
      Also my harness is a e36 harness from a 5 speed. I think the year was 95.

      Basicly what Im trying to do is splice a M20 engine side plug onto the e36 harness so that I dont have to run an adapter.

        bump. im the one who is putting the harness together for e30this. ive got the electronics manuals for both the e36 and e30 but ive got a few questions...

        for c101;
        pin 8=fuel consumption output rate (obc service intervail)
        pin 14=engine speed output from cluster
        pin 9=tach/fuel consumption

        all of the above were copied DIRECTLY from the 89' electronics manual. it appears as if pin 9 is the tach signal to the gauge from the ecu, but the tach signal is listed as being pin 14 on a chart i found in a swap thread here. any input? unfortunately, the internal workings of the tach arent displayed in the electronics manual so i cant trace either wire any further than the cluster plug...

        EDIT: the chart i found had correct pin orientation but was labeled wrong, hence my confusion. got it figured out!
