    m50 performance parts

hey guys. sorry if this has been covered. i did look but didnt find.

i have just bought a m50b25. im not sure weather its the cast or alloy block as i have not picked it up yet.

this motor is going to be my little toy for the next few years. just doing it as i can aford.
i want to get some seriouse power out of this. ie 500hp give or take.

i plan to turbo it. aswell as stroke it. full forged internals. balanced. oringed block etc etc.

at this stage i just want to know somewhere i can price up and buy things like stroker kits. cams. itb.s injectors and the rest.

    cheers oli

I know a few answers to your questions, but figure I'll bow out to the experts who are positive on their responses as I'm not completely. Somewhere to check out info is on bimmerforums in the e36 section. Lots of stuff there on the 24 valve engines.

One place to check for parts though would be bimmerworld and then there's turnermotorsport and also irelandengineering.
Those are a few places off the top of my head that should help a bit w/ the parts collection. 500hp isn't too lofty of a goal in reality, w/a turbo the guys on bimmerforums are going way over that mark on a few boosted motors.

I highly doubt an e30 could even handle 500 hp, much less someone who's handle has "boi" in it. But have fun smacking into a wall.

I agree with Uber E30. The only point in getting 500hp in an e30 is for the learning experience. I feel like a tuned s52 is about as much power as you need/can handle in an e30.

i currently use the car for drifting. i just got the engine to tinker with when i have a couple of dollars to kill. so uber e30 what would you recomend this 'boy' did with the motor? as i said before i only just got the motor and not rushing it to be finished so i still very open for ideas at the moment

Well, building the engine isnt bad, and turbo isnt bad. Im just saying with 500 whp you are going to kill yourself in an e30. 300 is easily obtainable and already super fast. Do you have some BBKs or 5lug with bigger brakes yet?

If you HONESTLY an E30 (M or non-M) can not handle 500hp, just ask Donovan, aka BMWSOB, about his 700hp/low 10 second E30.

The one that goes through driveshafts every few times he launches?

I think when he said "handle" he meant at least mildly reliable.

A friend of mine daily drives an E30 with 430 horses. It's been together and completely reliable for several years. A year now with that power. I think he wants more.

He broke a subframe recently launching it hard, but that's about it for damage. You can break a subframe with S50/2 power, so it just depends on how it is driven.

the car currently has mitsi evo brakes and big bilsteins and kings all round. but i was planing on doing some jappy set up like skyline r32 suspension or something.

i wouldnt dream of trying to run 500hp with a mildy modified suspension set up.

and if i make a engine capable of insane power i can always turn the boost down a little to a point that is remotely controlable.

i do agree 500 hp would probably kill me but theres nothing wrong with having the extra power there as long as your carefull about using it

A friend of mine has a 283whp US S50. He's on the forums, maybe he'll chime in. He's damn proud of it. (I dont blame him)
