    Started the swap...now some questions.....

swapping a 92 non-vanos m50 in my 91 318IS using a 1990 325is flywheel/clutch, trans, drive shaft, lsd. so far I bought the e30 325is stripped it kept what I needed and sold parts like crazy and then did the same to get my m50. Bought a 92 e36 325i with a busted auto trans. so I'm doing good with the cash so far. As of now I just put on the m20 started all the wiring was the same so that went easy. new thermostat in it, did some cleaning/painting. Took off my oil pan tonight to put my e34 one on. Need to pick up a gasket tomorrow for the pan and pick up tube. I bent the old bracket for the pick up tube tell I broke off the mounting part, but not sure if I broke off as much as I need to. Any pics of this being done?(searched but did not find) My next question is for my temp gauge to be right I need to swap my sensor from my m42 to the m50. Is it the one in the front of the m50 on the head? not sure where it's at on the m42 yet. My tach will also be wrong? so I need the chip out of a 6cly e30 gauge cluster what year/model? I also bought new plugs, motor mounts, fuel filter, redline fluids, flex-a-lite syclone fan, magnaflow muffler with dual 2.25" in and out. also will be putting the e36 rack in while I'm at it. since my harness is for an auto, can I just remove the computer for the trans and cover up the big plug that goes in it? I was reading about people tracing all the wires and removing all of it to make it cleaner is this necessary or can i just take off the computer for it and call it done?

some pics so far. and please let me know if I'm missing any thing so far?

    my car is going in...

+1, nice catch. Might wanna figure out details of your motor like that before you get the wiring adapter figured out cuz that could be a huge problem

ya he has a late 92. It probably should be the same as a 93 for the harness maybe?

The block should tell some of those details. But yes I believe it should be same as 93.

that's funny i was looking at pics on here and was starting to think the same same thing..... ill get the numbers off it and post it up see what we can figure out. as for the bumpers sold the back one the front stayed on the car when it went to the junk yard....and for the wiring ill probably be making the adapter my self.

                      Thanks guys
