    Drive shaft help!

    What drive shaft set up do I need ! 91 318is stock 240 trans with m52 conversion ?

    you wouldn't use a 318i DS?

      I'm using a e36 325 manual drive shaft

            the 318 driveshaft is too long

                huh? not sure what you are asking but the m5x is a 6 cylinder and so its longer

                  "Getrag 240. () A stock M42 cross member/tranny mounts may be used. The clutch/starter must be from an M20. The throw out bearing for the clutch must be from a euro 323i
                  Part available here:

                  Any M5x E36 manual drive shaft will work with an E30 CSB. Suggested rear end - <=3.25

                  *M20 stock flywheels require shaving 1/8" on the back side to avoid hitting the oil pan."

                          Ok won't the m52 flywheel/clutch/starter work with the 240 trans ?

                              uh oh, so does that mean an m20 wont work with G240 internals and 318is driveshaft??

                              i know this is 24v swap section but the m20 is coming out of the car that is getting a 24v so it still counts! :D Just happens to be going into my 318is since the m42 just died...
