Not sure you can get an E36 ignition tumbler to fit in an E30. I have never heard of anybody trying that before.

My key is tapes to the antenna and stays in the car. You theoretically take the key every time, but it a hassle IMO.

Why don't you just get the reflash to remove the EWS then you can wire the computer up to the stock ignition tumbler and use the E30 key?

you can ship things to Europe and the US can't you? The ECU weighs less than 1 kilo (2 tops with a box). The box should be no more than 25cm x 25cm x 10cm. Can't be that expensive to ship it.

thats a good idea but apart from shipping, what would be the cost to do the ecu.....in the us / europe?

I believe Alex L (abloriginalparts.com) charges around $400 to reflash the EWS out of the MSS50 ECU. Can't imagine the shipping to/from would be more than $100.

You paid ~$800 for an S50B32? In good working order?

Well then you'll have to figure out the EWS issues on your own. Swapping an S50B32 into an E30 is not an inexpensive proposition and is difficult to chepa out on. Good luck.

i said ALMOST half.... i paid, well in dollars about 1200 including all new recon parts,rings/bearings/etc....
dont wanna avoid the cost but just the headache to go with the cost, shipping, waiting etc. the complete management with proper tuning on the double vanos would could round about $700... so just weighing up my options...

btw. is the oil pump on the 3.0 and the 3.2 the same? would the 3.2 work on the e34 pan?

No, you have to dump the euro pump and dual pick-ups. Stock S/M50 pump with the E34 pickup is the only option aside from dry sump.
