I apologize for the semi ignorant post then. I believe the e34 windage tray was welded or riveted in, from the pics I've seen, so I don't believe there is an option to go in the pan. Did the euro s50 pan have a tray in it? I'm suprised it wouldn't include one, with the performance it has. Does it have provisions for one, like threaded bolt holes? Is the block the same as an US s50? Would one from it fit? I know Isera-Johnson (sp?) makes bmw crank scrapers, but Idk if they make them for your engine. Other than that, I'm sure the big name tuners (VAC, Bimmerworld, Turner, etc.) make or know someone that makes one for that euro engine. Or try a Uk based bmw forum? I hope this is a much more helpful post.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.Comment

wouldn't running the car on the track be more of an argument to use one? the idea of the windage tray is to keep the oil in the sump from splashing up into the rotating mass of the crank shaft and robbing the engine of power. my north american s52 had a windage tray bolted to the bottom of the engine after the e36 oil pan was removed. since my e34 oil pan already had one riveted to the inside, i elected to remove the one from the s52 because there was no way that they were both going to fit in there together. also, there was a question as to whether the s52 windage tray would clear the e34 oil pan if i went to the trouble of unriviting the one that came in the pan.
with that said, i would say that the stock s52 windage tray is a much more effective design than the one rivited to the e34 pan.sigpic

Correct.
The E34 pan was not designed up run on a S50 B32, so some things may need to be changed to get it to work. While having a windage tray might be helpful, I am pretty sure getting something to work would require a custom solution. I am jsut reporting what my data tells me and oil pressure doesn't seem to be a problem...so I haven't ever tried to weld up even a baffle.Comment
