I hooked up power to the harness and the c101 connector. I tried cranking the car to see if the starter even works and.... nothing. The relay in the fuse box clicks, my radio turns on, but no windows, no starter, no fuel pump, nothing.
I went offf this diagram:
The Car is a 91 318is, and the engine and harness are out of a 92 325i.
Now just to double check, I'm using a E30 325i starter, I have the big wire obviously on the big stud, and then on the top one I have the Black/Green, and the bottom, Black/Yellow.
I don't have that giant red wire on the fusebox side hooked upto power, would that make a difference? It's only used to power the E36 fusebox right?
Fuck, this is going to drive me insane. I have the ETM from a 92 325i and a 91 318is. On that chart I posted, all the 91 318is wires are correct, I just need to check the E36 stuff. Fuck me! This is going to kill me.
Don't know yet, I just wanted to check to make sure the starter worked before I hook everything up to the intake. We should know if it runs by the end of the weekend.
Couple more problems, my shift linkage is too short, I have a E36 5spd, but the selector rod is too short, I think I need one from an E30.
Also I hooked my slave up and put it in gear, I got someone to hold the clutch in, while I turned the prop shaft, I can turn it, but it takes a lot of effort, mind you the slave isn't hooked upto the resivoir so it might just need to be bled.

which tranny are you using?
i ran into the same exact problem with my getrag and e36 linkage.
i think that you need to get matching linkage, so if you have a ZF tranny, you use the 328i linkage...if its getrag, 325i linkage.
i cut mine in half and lengthened it with two pieces of metal.
