who can modify the harness to be just plug and play?

Any shop that can do this? I don't know what the f*ck I was think when I cut my e36 harness. :loco: To much shit in my head and no patience for this. If you know where I can send it to be done and price lmk. If someone here that has done several swap that wants to make extra money lmk. I will provide another e36 harness and an e30 harness

What year and model is the chassis? I've done a half-dozen that way.

tree house racing sells a plug and play harness adapter for 400.00, but depending on how picky you are about all of the ecu functions working, this may or may not be for you. since you have an m50, i presume by your thread, it should be great.

I've made and used two adapters like the Treehouse one but, honestly, I would just cut the e36 harness and mount the e30 plug like Matt does.

You can just push the pins out of the e36 connector and push them back into an e30 connector or use new pins.

Actually, you can't. The e36 motor harness has female pins and the e30 has male pins. You have to cut off the e36 pins and crimp on on new ones.

Terminating the E36 engine harness with the E30 C101 20 pin connector is the cleanest way to wire up the engine, but it's certainly not easy.

Thats not true. Its just as easy as making an adapter.
Thats how my M50 was wired into my car.
Engine side M20 plug spliced into an E36 engine harness.

What I meant was, cutting, stripping and crimping pins and installing it into the C101 connector shell, not splicing.

Either operation is straightforward, but some people are just allergic to wiring.

Thats what im going with to make my new one.
taking the M50 out of my 87e and puttign into a cleaner 88.
I thinki im just going ot up the M20 engine side off the c101 and wire it directly onto the M50 haness seens as my M50 harnes is already cut and slpiced to my 87.

when you say functions.. which functions work and which ones dont. does this differ from the thr adapter and the other ones

after 10k ++ spent I dont want to mess around anymore. just want to be finished with it. got matt to do the wiring now. just waiting for a few more parts I already ordered and do the install. 5 lug conversion, s50, and supercharger 14lb. started out just a s50 swap and expanded. I hate those pretty ass E30s on R3V. To much influence. :hitler: now should I stay stock look ( sleeper) or put add on body kit on( IS front lip, IS sid skirts, RD rear apron)? :giggle:
