    check engine light?

i remember having a thread about this but i didn't get the answer i was looking for.

Basically my check engine light doesn't come on, not even in the start position, the thing is i don't know if it ever used to come on, i swapped motors as soon as i got the car. I'm thinking maybe my wiring adapter doesn't include check engine light? it's the AKG one. Basically could my check engine light thing be dead in the cluster or is that not likely to be it? what should i check for? thanks.

I don't have my wiring charts handy, but my first thought would be no connection between the ECU and your CEL. I would find the CEL wire on the chassis side of your conversion connector and apply power to it. Use a sharp probe to pierce the insulation.

If the light comes on, you have bad wiring somewhere towards the ECU (connector!). If it doesn't, you either have bad wiring between the connector and the cluster or the bulb is bad.

If the light comes on, there's also the remote chance that your ECU isn't working right, but I doubt it...
