Question 130mph in an S50 e30 is it possible?

I am looking forward to running at Bonneville in the next year and I am wondering if anyone thinks it is possible to run 130mph on salt in an E30.
My S50 is in the works and has been for some time but here are the specs.
S50 stock lower end. Fully ported and polished head
S50 cams 24lb injectors 3.5 HFM Turner Chip for these parts, Long tube headers custom exhaust twin 2 all the way out with a resonator. Light weight Flywheel M3 Clutch. The car is as low as it can be on 17's and E36 M3 Suspension and brakes as well as GC coilovers. All extra sound deadening is gone, CF hood.

So has anyone made it to 130 mph in an E30 S50 similar to mine and if so can it be doen in under a mile? Thanks in advance for any input.

Um yea, a stock 325i can do 120mph. So + 60hpish should be able to do a good amount more then 130mph.

The issue that I beleive will be difficult is the 1 mile run and the traction created on the salt itself. If an E30 S50 could easily hit say 150mph, then I would say that there is a good chance that I could do 130mph on salt.

It would be really tough to get traction. The salt is wicked. I'm sure it could be done though.

I try to go out for speed week every year (I'm in SLC) So I'll keep a lookout for you!

Traction will be an issue but they say as long as you ease into it and dont get into gears hard (use the clutch) it is not a huge problem. Keep in mind when you get up in speed around 120 mph you are doing a mile every 30 seconds.

I think you'll be ok once you get moving. On tarmac I'm into the triple digits at the end of a quarter mile and I've had it up to 140 when space permitted so safely. The main thing is going to be your gearing I think.

Traction is not as big of an issue as these guys make it out to be (from someone who's been there). Even in an e39 M5 once you were over 40 you could get into it pretty hard. In an e46 m3 because of the shift in upper RPM powerband it took virtually no effort to maintain traction. You'll be fine.

My thoughts exactly. Not sure if it can get traction in time and speed up that quickly. Remember on salt, fatter tires are like going on water, it'll be like skating on ice.

Your biggest concern like everyone says is traction. Can you use a push truck or something that can get you up to speed before the 1 mile starts? Get more power in that thing and you will fly, my stock 325i goes about 125 before I slow her down due to fear of dying.

No push allowed. I figure If I run a 2.93 lsd it should be plenty tall and the gears will be really long too.

Long might not be ideal, once you hook up you'll want to climb pretty quickly so shorter gears and starting in second be a better option.

i hit 450 mph in mine, took like 20 seconds.

but no seriously, 130 is a joke, a stock 325i could do that!

But then you'll tach out before reaching the high speeds.
