    E30 or E36 cats/exhaust?

    Hey guys,

I'm about to order in a new supersprint back section, and figure that I might as well replace my cat at the same time. I have ebay headers on my m52.

I've seen guys on here have used both e30 and e36 setups, and both seem to work fine, but a lot of that seems to rest on those people just having those parts sitting around already... so if you were to do it over fresh, would you order up the e30 parts or the e36 parts?

And I'm not interested in doing any custom exhaust build, nor getting rid of the cat. And supersprint is my choice on mufflers, it sounds like it is more of the quieter refined sound I am looking for.

    Thanks ya'll.

Seeing as how I just went through this, my e30 cats were actually fine and even with the REALLY restrictive stock e30 muffler I made 200 whp.

I think the stock e30 cats are perfectly sufficient for an M52 and will sound more refined than aftermarket stuff. They will fit like... stock!

You may make a few more HP with aftermarket or e36 stuff but not much.

Excellent. I was reading up on your setup, so I'm glad you chimed in.

      Cheers,
