I've been ripping my hair out for the last two days with this car trying to figure out why it won't start. I've read every thread I can find, looked at every diagram I can look at, and had a buddy double check a lot of it.
I'm working with a 95 325 m50, and the harness from said car, which was originally an automatic. I'm using a red 413 from a 95 525. I've also tried a second red 413 with no changes.
I'm getting cranking, although it seems a little weak. No fuel or spark. I thought i had a little hint of spark at one point with some ether used, but nothing to catch.
I've tried two Crank position sensors, both of which test good. I've verified the wiring on those and the cam sensor a handful of times. The ECU has both all-hot and switched-hot. Main relay seems to be getting power, but doesn't seem to be getting triggered by the key. I've tried two seperate relays, and jumping 30 to 87a/87b. the fuel pump will not prime with key, (probably because main relay issue), but jumping the relay it will run. Injectors are not firing, but seem to be getting 12v. Coils are grounded, fuel rail is grounded, harness and motor are grounded, all of which test good.
I don't have a MAF or 02 plugged in currently, but it shouldn't need those to at least cough a little. I've checked what feels like everything that all the other no-start threads are mentioning, but all of those things seem to be ok here for some reason.
I'm sorry if this post is a little spotty, I'm kinda falling asleep but I wanted to get it up so I might have some replies tomorrow.
