    Cooling

    Some help please guys....

    im using 2 x 10inch electric fans mounted onto the radiator to cool my s50, the fans are switched on by means of a 82deg temp switch however this setup doesnt seem to keep the motor cool, the fans stay on for long periods but the temp gauge still passes the half mark.. any ideas?

    Where is the temp switch located?

    How are the fans oriented and how many CFM do they push or pull?

      the temp switch is located on the top pipe from the thermostat housing into the radiator( check pic)
      Not sure about the CFM(???)

        Hard to tell from this shot but it may be that the fans are restricted by a lack of room for the air to escape behind them?

        Could be a coolant bleeding issue as well?

        Not the cause I'm sure but the switch should be located on the cool side of the radiator (original spot).



        One other question (off the subject a bit, only curios) is that an e30 m20 radiator?

          There is not much space at all....

          gonna bleed it again tonight, maybe im doing it wrong, with the m20 we had a bleed screw on the thermostat housing, how should i bleed the s50???

          yes it is a m20 radiator, why?

            Why dont you try using the temp sensor that is in the side of the rad.

              the temp sensor on the side of the rad is a 90 deg switch,will come on a bit too late ....
