If I had 20 years to my age I'd probably be banging a fat Mexican chick like the one beached on the hood of your car.

Nice job on the swap & I'll give you additional cool points for doing it on a Touring.

But the front end looks horrible & OP is clearly a vagina when it comes to criticisms.

all you need to do to install a hacked OEM S54 ecu or aftermarket DME S54 is to ................ WIRE it.

get the diagrams+ pin outs of chassis and wire it. if you are not good at internet search, go to your local BMW dealership.

    *******

when I did this (s54 swap) in early 2010 I found the entire wiring manual for s54 online and printed it, then labeled everything and wired it. done done done.

I could have opted for a hacked OEM DME at the time for a price, but choose to use a full standalone as I enjoy having complete control of my dual vanos mapping :D.......not recommended for all.

One could easily send your harness to MMW or OP or others and have them do it for you. harness is harness is harness. Even making a harness 100% from scratch is not that difficult; you just need to know what you are doing. Not for noobs!!!

E throttle carry over items can be Z3 late model (m54)

DME flashing is done by more than a few. With the stock DME flashed/hacked, S54 installation is just like wiring in a S52 OBD2. DONE DONE DONE.

E throttle installation on cable throttle cars has been done on subaru's for a LONG time now. reference a 2006 sti swap into 1995 impreza (can bus + e throttle into obd1 + cable throttle car).

S54 has marginally more sensors than a S52:

    3 knock vs 2 knock.
2 TPS sensors vs only 1
2 cam vs 1 cam sensor
double vanos has 4 wires instead of the single vanos 1

similar items between s52 and s54:

    6x injectors both have.
6x coils both have. the wiring colour is even the same between s52 and s54 coil trigger wires!!!!!
temp sensor for air, water. oil pressure sensor.
    4x o2 sensors both have.
IAC is actually direct interchange between S54 and S52. hilarious.

accessories are piece of cake. s54 will plug and play the alternator, power steering pump, AC compressor even of the S52. plug and play!!! I ended up bolting on a 328i cabrio 140 amp alternator as the S54 likes more power natively.

if one makes a hybrid harness it can get difficult to manage all going on, but honestly its not that hard if you know what you are doing.

MS is not expensive if you don't cost your own time of building, setup, etc. If one is skilled at MS there is no reason it cannot run a S54b32.

I used a commercially avail. standalone on my own S54 swap last year because it was more Economical for what I wanted to do long term. I can wire in any ECU and re-map standalone/OEM dme's, but I cannot build a computer by myself.

Absolutely No way I would go through the expense/labor to install a S54 and not want to tune it more..............Alpha-N full tuning+ ITB S54 = sound of sheer maddness.

thank you.............................you my friend make a lot of sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I going blind and crazy, or are those foose wheels?????

thank you..............those are ROH wheels...................... all i could get for now to clear the brembo calipers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
