    Pedalpushers S54

This subforum's been a little quiet lately, so I guess it's my turn. I've had my M3 back on the road for around a month now. I decided I wanted to do things my own way (for better or worse). I am running a Megasquirt3. I wanted a standalone that I was comfortable with, so this is what I chose. Obviously Vanos and DBW has been deleted. I don't want to hear any bitching about that. I'm using VAC pieces for the delete's. I made my own simplified harness using the DIY Autotunes wires and the S54 connectors. VERY simple under the hood. I kept powersteering, but that's about it.

I wanted factory airhorns, but didn't want the factory airbox. I wanted to let the sound out! So I made my own airbox. It uses the original S54 airhorns (trumpets). It is still a work in progress, hence the bungee's. I'm going to make it a cold-air box at some point.

I do have the 6-speed from the E46 M3 installed as well. I bought the engine and trans and many of the mechanical bits for the swap from R3V member Lag. I am also using the subframe/S54 oil pan and tranny mount made by member TinyT here on the forums. They were both great to deal with.

I bought a welder and learned how to weld. My first welding project was the exhaust on this car. It has Ebay headers into dual 2.5" piping with an x-pipe, two bullet mufflers, and two Aerochamber resonators.

The whole project is still a work-in-progress, so please no nitpicking:)

I just got the GoPro, so the video isn't the best. I keep watching it for the sound! If you keep watching there is more than just pedal video.

Can you guess what the next swap is going to be?

Pumped for the M2. Please please please, keep it Inka. By far one of the best BMW colors ever produced.

18" MK's in the back ground not that common of a wheel. Sounds very nice, like the heel to foot work.

The 2002 will stay Inka. It's a perfectly fine Tii with Alpina flares. It just needs more power.

I do have it. I was keeping it until I got the car going to make sure I didn't want to put it back on and go a different route with the engine management. Now that the car is driving, I'm definately not putting it back on. If you know anyone looking, it's available:) I've been meaning to call Dr. Vanos but haven't gotten around to it.

Good eye! They are actually 17's. Been meaning to put them up for sale, just haven't gotten around to it. Picture of car when I bought it below.

At this point I think getting the Vanos to work is above my skill level. I've followed hoveringuy's threads, and I don't think I'm yet up to the challenge with this S54. Also, I really wanted to keep it as simple as possible.

Oh. My. Glob. That is perfect! I am totally looking forward to that build!

I looked at two 76s before I found my e46. Always wanted one.
