    M54 B25 & B30 internal component interchangeability

Hello all, i have just joined the forum and this is my first post.
My name is Irwan and I am from indonesia.

    I have a 1990 e30 318i and a 2001 e46 325ci.

I have a question regarding my M54 B25 engine, hopefully I can get some feedback from members in this forum.

I have the opportunity to acquire a M54 B30 engine, and I am wondering if i can use the internal component from this engine in my M54 B25 engine block?
The reason is that if possible i would like to retain my car original engine block (thus engine number) while getting the added power from the displacement increase.

Basically will i be able to just swap the crankshaft, conrods, pistons, and camshaft etc from the B30 engine to the B25 engine block?

Of course if all else failed, i can just put the whole B30 engine in my car and be done with it, just as I mentioned before it would be nice if I can retain my car original engine number.

Your feedback / enlightenment in this matter is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards
    Irwan

Yes. Just transfer everything from B30 block to B25.

And for americans who have it all easy in their life, some countries require engine block to be original serial number matching the vin number in order to get it registered every year.

Good thing they don't check the pistons/rods/crank?

Engine serial number is an integral part of the vehicle registration, along with vin / chassis number.
Thats why my plan to keep the original engine block.

@desertbmw : thanks for the input my friend, really appreciate it.
