I just purchased a s54/6mt to swap in to my 89 325i. The motor is out of a wrecked 04 m3. I'll be using the original DME most likely flashed by nando TBD and using Andrew for a z harness(PO cut the original harness in half)and his adapter harness. I'm already in contact with Tyler at arc asylum, he'll be doing my pan, subframe, trans xmember, headers and exhaust. That about sums up the background.
Engine arms: I have the m3 arms. I read that Andrew used 01-02 z arms, is this a necessity for the motor to be positioned correctly? As long as I'm using the correct arms any 24v swap mounts will work?
Driveshaft: I'm pretty sure I saw that I need a 96-97 auto m3 DS. I've seen that turner sells them, does anyone have a recommendation, or lead on where to get the correct one.
Shifter assembly: would my stock shifter bolt up to the 6er? Would I need to do the 10* twist of the selector rod or purchase the 24v swap dssr? Didn't see too much info out there on the 6 speed in to e30.
Radiator: looking for one to cool the engine properly (it gets upwards of 100* here) and fit well in to the chassis. I'd like to use factory hoses for ease of install and replacement along with the m3 expansion tank.
That's about all I can think of for now. I understand these are simple and maybe menotenous questions. Many of you have done the swap and most have taken slightly different routes. I'd just like to hear what my best options are. Maybe something you did and wish you did it another way.
