S54 doesn't crank at all little help

As most of you know I'm swapping an s54 into my e30

I picked up a harness adapter from Andrew and quality is great and plugs are labeled

I connected everything no plug forgotten except for two going from the main harmed to the trans mission (I'm using a zf 5 speed )
And also one to the maf (it doesn't reAch but plan on extending it)

So when I try to start I hear the fuel pump prime and I hear one big click coming from the engine sounds like the starter but my friend that did the ews delete says it might be the edk which is under the throttle bodies with two plugs and the link to the throttle bodies

So I'm just wondering if anyone can help out with any experience on this

    Thanks in advance

Oh and we do get a code 107 which is the drive by wire test.?

I forgot to add the reason why he thinks it is the EDK is because the throttles don't move or make noise when trying to start the car

Correct. You should hear the pump prime and throttle move fully open to close when turn key to position 2. But starter ON wire should go directly to starter from ignition switch, so there is nothing to do with other electronics.
Check ground wire, try to jump the starter directly. Try different battery, check battery cables.

I think that the click that I hear is from the starter it doesn't do multiple click just one solid clunk

Almost like it tries to spin but it or the flywheel doesn't move

I'm not sure though and will double check and try to jump it tomorrow

What makes you say engine ground?

            Are you messing with me?

Ive had people call in that have gotten our swap harnesses with similar issues. The starter finds enough ground to fire the solenoid (the click/thud youre hearing) but not enough to fire starter motor (which is what pulls all the amperage).

That or your starter is dead :P

Great ing through the checklist in my head I am just going to throw these ideas out there.

This engine is an s54 from an e46 2002. So is the starter

The transmission is a zf from e36 but the flywheel I used is from the dealer new for a z3m with the s54. Would this combo be creating the no starter spin problem? Or should I have gotten a z3m starter??

Also could I have installed the flywheel wrong to create this problem? I'm confident it is installed right but then again I thought the car would start.

Another thing. I have not bled the slave cylinder yet. Even though I don't think it matters could this be an issue?

First thing I'll do is jump it directly to the starter. See what happens

Where is your engine ground hooked up?

Have you tried turning the engine by hand just to make sure it's not stuck after the new rod bearings?

Did you lock the flywheel to setup VANOS and forget to remove the flywheel lock? Have you tried tapping the starter while cranking?
                            Just brainstorming here

S54 doesn't crank at all little help

engine ground from the arm to the body like the s52 had it

I just jumped the starter and it turned over

My battery is low but I was using a jump box last night.

Also I just realized that my unloaded really is ticking and clicking when the key is on.

I tried swap it with the other relay that's the same and but whichever relay is in that position k7 I think just clicks kinda randomly with the key on
