    S54 e30 Low on power

    Hi
I was wondering if any of you could help me find out whats wrong with my s54 swap.
Had the car on dyno after the build were done at it only made 308hp (engine hp)

The engine seems to run ok, it revs 8000rpm. Only when im driving down the highway at 2-3000 rpm it sometims gets grumpy until i give it full throttle.

The engine is an us 2001 model with euro headers and euro 2005 mss54hp.

The alternator plug is not connected due to i run M50 alternator.

    Have som fault codes.

    51. DME: Interface, multifunction steering wheel (E46)/steering-colum stalk (E36/7)

    84. DME. CAN timeout DSC

    85. DME: CAN timeout, steering-angle sensor

    86. DME: CAN timeout, instrument cluster

    87. DME: No roadspeed signal

2B. DME: Signal, temperature sensor, radiator outlet.

2C. DME: Signal, thermal oil-level sensor.

    6A. DME: Signal, brake-light switch.

    8B. DME: Interrution, Tempomat operation

From what you posted, you need to get the road speed signal fixed or get it flashed out via a tune. DME wants to see road speed. It wants to see it from the DSC unit. Not sure if you can send signal for diff into the proper wire into the DME. You really just need a proper tune with certain things turned off.

I would say the last code is saying it is in limp mode.

You can change the speedometer input to a standard diff siignal (z3m mode). You have to adjust the k factor so it reads the correct pulses/km.

I would have the other errors removed as well.

If the Vehicle speed rear right wheel speed signal from ABS is programmed out of the DME/disabled does this cure the issue ?

you either have to delete the error codes for the VSS input, or change the input mode to "direct", adjust the K factor, and hook up the standard 9-pulse signal.

Could someone clarify- if speed signal in soft is in DSC mode and i connect on pin22 on x60004 connector speed signal from e30 dash- it will be still in limp mode and error on speed signal will be like no road signal at all?

yes. in DSC mode it reads it over the CAN bus. It has to be set to "direct", which is what the Z3M uses. Then it will read the pin on the DME.
