What are these connectors for? (s54)

Can somebody fill me in on these two connectors? Where does each wire go? I think I have all of the other connectors accounted for, but can't find solid info about these. Thanks

Same two connectors, located in the e46m3.

I believe the white one is x6506, e-box fan.

Is the back one a 8 position connector? Can't tell from the photo. If so, probably x6021.

The small white one plugs up to the big white plug on the main harness, it looks like it's one piece but it's two. The black plug goes to a connector on adapter harness which goes to a power connector with two red wires.

          e-box fan makes sense. Thanks
The black connector is a 4 position connector. I already got the 8 position one accounted for, but couldn't find info about this 4-pin connector.

Yeah, it's been a long term project racecar. I'm building the entire body harness from scratch. Aim datalogger, switches, circuit breakers, relays, etc.
Just frustrating not having good diagrams of the engine harness. Alldata, Bentley manual, and Mitchel Ondemand have provided some pretty conflicting diagrams.

The connector you're describing is a different connector. I already have that one accounted for. Thanks

            Hey Erik,
gpeterson and jink0619 are correct. The black 4-pin connector is the E46 version of the X6021. The Z3M version is 8-pin which makes it a bit confusing because the E46 X6011 is 8-pin while the Z3M X6011 is 2-pin. It has wires for the fuel pump relay (EKP-Modul) and the back-up lights switch.

Wait, they cant be the same connector. I have the black 4 pin connector and the black 8-pin (with 4 wires) connectors.

On the 8-pin connector, you just use the wire for starter and switched power to oil level sensor.

On the 4-pin connector, does it only control fuel pump and back up lights, or is there more?

In your picture the 8-pin connector is the X6011. Yes, it's for the starter terminal 50 and ignition switched power for the alternator voltage regulator (terminal 15). Install a fuse inline if you want for the alternator terminal 15 wire (E46 WDS shows 7.5 amp, Z3 ETM shows 10 amp, so choose whichever). Ignore the thermal oil level sensor. It is not compatible with the E30 check control panel. You'll need to wire the E34 M50 oil level sensor separately (it not wired the same as the E30 sensor so look at the E34 ETM for that).

In your picture the 4-pin connector is the X6021. It provides no additional function than previously stated. It sounds like you need to spend time going over the appropriate ETMs and the WDS.
