    Rare wiring guides

    Hi Guys,

I am currently finishing up a E30 S38B36 swap, the problem I am running into is both the donor car and project car were not available in North America and I am having problems finding wiring diagrams.

The project car is a Japanese imported Eurospec 1989 MtecII 320i, it has a M20B20, I am hoping the wiring at the C101 is the same as a North American 89 325i M20B25, can anybody confirm?

The donor car is a Eurospec 1989 M5, they were only available here in 91, again I am having problems finding wiring information for the X20, even for a M5, never the less an 89.

    Any help appreciated.

wedophones has the M5 ETM, I used it to wire up my buddy's S38 e30 M3 swap, eurospec should be about the same I imagine

Thats the thing, the ETM doesn't say its for the 89 M5, starts in 1990. Same with Bentley for E34. I can either go with a later model M5 wirings, or the same year 535i, not sure what to trust more.

Also, anybody know about the M20B20? Looks the same as a M20B25 electrical, I just don't want to short anything.

I think you should be able to use the same diagrams - the easiest way is to verify by wire color, if they are the same then the function is likely the same too. do a continuity test with a multimeter to be certain.

they're all Motronic 1.x in any case so they will be very, very similar.
