    Terrible take-off hesistation 88 325ix

I just bought an 88 325ix 5speed. It has 140k on it. When on a flat, the hesitation doesn't really effect driveability, but when i'm on a hill its almost impossible to take off without rolling backwards or stalling. When you "blip" the gas to take off, it hesitates really bad, then finally gains some rpms. The car also seems to have a miss/hesistation at idle. Anyone have a solution? Thanks

vac leak.. it's a lean spike. i'd go through and replace anything rubber, tighten intake manifold/TB nuts, etc.

Any updates on this? I'm really curious.

Also, start the car and open the hood. Quickly pull back the throttle to wide open and then let it go (like flooring it for a split second). Hear any vac leaks? Does the engine stall or does it rev? Commonly, it will hesitate, which I've heard attributed to the TPS or ICV.

WIth the ICV you can do the "penny" fix. TPS just gets replaced, I believe.

        Let us know!

well i haven't gotten a chance to look at it yet, but you can definitely hear a hissing sound ever so slightly. When you gas it under the hood, it bogs than finally takes off. the icv was replaced pretty recently
