    Pulled the front axles out.

I contacted axles unlimited and was quoted 140 each with a liftime warranty. He can turn them around next day I dont need them that soon so shipping will not be to much.

Shafts came out really easy. I removed the strut and control arms as one.
The outer ball joints are a little loose assembled but the inners look good. My drivers side axle bearing has some play so I will install new.

    Gaskets

On the drivers side of the front diff there is a ring with 6 bolts on the side. I pulled these bolts thinking this helped hold on the half shaft. Is there a gasket needed on this piece. also the piece on the passenger side of the oil pan I had to remove it to get the passenger half shaft past the frame. Does this piece need a gasket on it also

there are o-rings, but no gaskets.

you shouldn't have to remove any of that stuff, the shaft pulls straight out once you have the struts out of the way.

          Pass side axle

I had to remove the nose off the oil pan on the pass side to clear the frame when pulling the passenger side shaft. Is this not normal. I have not gotten my hand on a bentley yet

bentley doesn't describe anything about the ix anyway.

no, it's not normal. you may have been just doing it in a different way. you can pull the shaft straight out of the diff without it hitting anything.

My pass side shaft catches the inner cv joint on the frame. I unbolted the nose piece/axle bearing carrier from the oil pan to get enough tilt to clear the cv on the frame. The length of axle remaining inside the oil pan makes it necessary to remove this piece to tilt enough to clear the frame. If not the pass half shaft pulls loose but does not have enough clearance to remove the shaft from the car. I assume that is why the carrier is bolted to the pan and not cast in.

I've pulled that shaft probably a dozzen times. You shouldn't need to remove it.

So I will have to inspect the motor mounts mabee. I drove the car had it up to 90 no noticeable noises besides clicking half shafts. No evidence of a wreck

yeah, could be motor mounts. but there's normally a straight path under the frame rails to the shaft.

Yes photos show that clearance is tight

I'm thinking maybe the drivers side motor mount could be bad.

                          Intake manifold

Does the intake manifold look on the right angle
                          Or should it sit level.

that totally looks like it's leaning towards the drivers side, it should be approximately flat with the ground.

                              Passenger side.

Looks like the pass side poped. It looks like there is a clam on lower to catch the upper mount in the event of failure. It looks like it poped past the clam catch. Anything to be aware on installing a replacement?
