    auto to manual

I have given up finding a manual ix for less than 1500 so I have decided to go for a auto but how hard would it be to make it a 5 speed I would just need the pedals and the transmission and then just bolt it on right
Has anyone done this to a ix did I miss a project thread on this

you need a transmission, transfercase, clutch slave/master cylinders (+ the clutch hard and soft line), and pedals (they can come from any E30, as long as you get ones from an airbag or non-airbag car, depending on what yours is). wiring is minor. you need 2 clutch switches, the wiring & brackets are already there. obviously you need a clutch, pilot bearing, shifter and linkage too.

it's really not much worse than doing a clutch job. if you have an airbag car, just swap the pedals into your existing bracket. if it's a non-airbag car, swapping the pedal box is easy. driveshafts and mounts are all the same.
