    Ix engine removal

Does anyone know how to take off the front axles on the ix? It's the only thing keeping the engine in the bay?

    Pull.

The mounts hold it in too? Not sure what you meant.

Well it looks like they run through the oil pan. I guess I have to remove the axles.

yes. they pass through. just pull them out, they're clipped into the diff.

the easiest way is probably to drop the whole subframe/engine/trans underneath the car instead of pulling it from the top.

Any pointers on this. Looks like unbolt ing the alumnium sub frame and the brace/yolk at the transfer case. Minimal connections. Pull the fan clutch. What do you suggest for supporting the drive system
