Tightening the VC to 5spd = weird problem - pls advise ASAP!

Got the two cases bolted together and am tightening the output shaft of the 5spd to the input flange of the VC. Anyways when the 3x nuts are not tight everything spins in unison (in neutral & in gear) = good

When I tighten the 3x nuts I can no longer spin the rear output shaft of the VC freely - there is a strong resistance within the VC.

With this strong resistance, I am finding that I can turn the rear output shaft of the VC which turns the front output shaft at the same speed, but the input flange of the VC is no longer turning with everything else.

Can someone explain what is going on?

What is the torque spec of the 3x nuts?

    bent shaft?

also, the VC is just part of the transfercase, it's not "the" transfercase. :)

they're the same as the large-size flex disk on normal E30s and E36s.

i think you have something in the wrong place inside the case when you put it back together. go to realoem, print out the shitty schematic, take your case back apart and compare your assembly to the diagram the best you can.
