Transfer Case Blues

Well I just tried the jack stand test on my '88 ix it failed :( Rear wheels just kept spinning so I assume that the VC has gone out. Had the transfer case fluid changed out and the guy said it was like a black pudding coming out so I assumed that was the silicone from the VC. Also mentioned metal shavings on the plug. That's what prompted the test.

So I'm on the look-out for an manual trans case. If anyone has a working one that they'd be willing to sell please send me a PM. Would try and give it a good home......thanks

the plug is magnetic so metal shavings are normal. that's unrelated to the VC though, the goopy fluid and failure of the jack test pretty much tells you that the VC is shot.
