Does anyone know if you can buy the splined shafts that are built into the transfer

    case?

I think i need to have another T/C rebuilt, but this time i want both input shaft splines inside of the transfer case to be new..... for front & rear driveshafts so I'm not faced w/ stripping them again.

If anyone has a part # for both that would be great. thanx!

but it's going to be $300-$400. you're probably better off finding a used t-case that has a good output spline so at least you can use the rest for parts (doesn't matter if it's auto/manual, but you'll have more extra parts if you find a manual).

fvck! i need a good front driveshaft, and a donor transfer case (have 2 possible good ones but they're both auto)....thanks for the reply Chris. Sucks b/c i had this t/c in my car rebuilt earlier this yr, but i guess the #29 shaft was stripped as well. Internally i know it works.

Put the car on the lift over the wkend and the front splines were stripped. Was able to spin it freely without it grabbing at all.

Tried driving it to work this morning, and was getting a NASTY drivetrain wobble/unbalanced vibration throughout the whole undercarriage. Had to bring it back home =(

if you already have two auto cases and if they have splines that are good, part them out. internally they're all the same, the only difference is the input from the trans. it's physically the same where it interfaces with the planetary gear, but on the auto the input shaft is built into the transmission, where on the manual the shaft is seperated by the big flex disc between the trans and t-case.

            ahh i get it...

i meant to say i have two potential purchases for auto t/c's in my area. I just hate buying these things not knowing if they're good or not. Roulette game.

yeah the car moves fine, but wobbles like crazy at any speed as of this morning. I was getting a drivetrain vibration that would come and go prior to today.

so i did a lil diagnosing when i got home. Thought maybe the wobble/vibration was due to my wheels lugs not being tightened all the way, but they were. Also the borrowed BBS front spacers i'm using didn't allow me to use the hubcentric rings, so i never ran them...so convinced myself it might be that.

Took it on the highway and didn't feel any crazy vibration that i felt this morning.

The only other thing i did over the wkend was readjust my ebrake handle since it was so loose it wasn't holding even on a slight incline. I over adjusted it to a point where the rear brakes would stick. Took it around the block and noticed a slight wobble again. I'm guessing this was attributed to the sticky rear calipers?

if you tighten up the wheels up in the air, and then torque them on the ground, you don't really need them to be hubcentric. my normal wheels are not hubcentric and I've ran them for 4 years and abused on the track without any vibrations.

I do have studs though, which makes things significantly easier.

yeah i've ran wheels w/o hubcentric rings, same w/ spacers w/o a hubcentric lip w/ no issues either.....but of course while I was at work today, I had to convince myself that the 'easy fix' of maybe not torquing the lugs properly OR the fact i didn't have hubcentric rings was the cause of my issue. lol.

I'm gonna drive it to work tomorrow, hopefully the sticky rear caliper(s) is the root of the prob i had this morning.
