She's Alive!! First Drive to Work was today!

So I joined the e30 world. Just purchased this rust free beauty in February of 2012 and as of yesterday she is up in running!! Car was not running and the top of the engine was sitting in the trunk....
Here is a list of items done to the car so far:

• New Slotted/Drilled rotors
• z3 short shifter with all new bushings
• Euro smileys
• New Bosch Spark Plugs
• Valve Clearance
• New Clutch/Pressure plate
• New Oil Level Sensor
• New Slave Cylinder
• Euro Bumper Trim
• All Splines have Moly 60 :)
• IS Lip

why was head off engine (did it break T-belt?)

i just took my HR's and billies out for snow season (like it higher and softer ), wife kept ripping valence lip off

Good to see another iX coming back to life. These are the forgotten brothers of the standard E30's. Seems like anytime you see one it's a partout. Take care of her and she'll take care of you :)

PO didnt know why the mechanic took it off.. He thought timing belt but the valves are straight and pistons are good. I purchased a IX engine and put it in & took the old one out. Wow that was a pain!


In SC we really dont have snow...but if we do I cant wait :)

Good call Nando. I will be going with a build on the other engine. I havent decided which is the best route yet... Suggestions?

The wife will learn how to drive straight drive. Id rather teach her on this then my M5 :)

i have three and she likes driving the M3 in summer and having guys look/wave at her , and when the M3 track car is done she will drive it too

and yes she has the longer commute (with more nasty hills) so when it snows she gets the IX ,and she loves blowing by the stuck suv's. the lip thing is prolly my fault i should just remove the lip when the snow is deep, but with it raised up this year maybe it wont be an issue!

I can't sleep any more because I have all the parts for my 5 speed swap sitting next to my broken down auto tragic and when I get back from thanksgiving im gonna get her running within a week
