Those work RSB wheels, they look just like the wheels I have on an old mini

compared to aluminum, they will definitely be heavier.

well i think it doesnt matter how wide wheel you use as long it doesnt hit your fender... you should just think look/driveable ratio when choosing rims.. i prefer look on my car... and if i put 10 wide to rear, it will come out a lot, so i need to get stiff springs..

Here is 8,5x17 front with et13 and 10 wide rear et 15, tyres are 235/45

Hey, yeap! thats the one. Do you know anything about it? I keep finding out new things as I dig deeper. I reallllly want to find the hitch for it, I found the hitch completely hidden, and I don't think its ever been used, but the weird euro ball arm thing that goes into it is no where. I wont pull anything big, just a small sail boat or something.

But yeah, I want something with some lip and that is 15 inches as I have a good set of 15" 215/55/15's. I was thinking the rotas because I like the lip and they kinda suit the age of the car. And i really like how Nando's car sits, would the 8 inch wide RB's look similar?

a street 245 may fit but it's going to be tight, you'll need the perfect offset and you'll have to work the rear fender flares a bit so you can roll the lips.

because, why would you want to run a tire with less grip than stock? I run 195/60s as my snow tires, they really look kind of lame.

there's a considerable amount of room to go wider up front as well. a 225/50 with an 8" wheel should fit just as easily as my 235/50s with a 7.5" wheel did. I'd love to get some 17x8's but none are really available in the right offset.

I don't see all this "bad info" your talking about
Yes I made a mistake by saying the euroweaves were et26 instead of et24.

If you like the look of Nando's ride, your Hartge will have the same stance [+3mm] , with 15m extra innerwheel clearance.

7.5 is in my opinion, the biggest wheel that will fit in front, and yes it should be in the et35 range

205/55r15 is the stock tire size for an IX
Stock IX weaves [et41] do not look sunken in the front
but do appear sunken in in the rear

Nando, why to you continually have a hate-on for 195/60r15 ???

some bad information in this thread... I've run a lot of different wheels and offsets on my car, as well as lots of tires. an 8" wheel is about the widest you can fit on an ix and still not have a lame stretched tire size or totally hacked up fenders. with the right offset a 225/50R15 will fit without issues (although it's a good idea to trim and roll the rear fender lips). you can go up to a 235 under stock fenders but honestly I wouldn't reccomend it on a street car, and the offset has to be pretty much perfect.

the offset is not bad at all for an 8" wheel. it gives you some room to play with spacers if needed. a 225/50R15 should work, a 205/55 will definitely work. I calculated that the ideal offset for an 8" rim was ET33. so you could get a 3mm spacer (which are cheap) and be right there.

no, they really won't. the stock wheels sit so far inside the fenders it's not funny.

The fronts are [hard to find] available in a ..35 offset.
    If you use your fronts:
ET26 is way, way too low for a 7.5" wheel. it barely works for a 7" wheel. that will relegate you to a 195 or a 205 if you're lucky.

One of the best performance upgrades for an ix is to get really light wheels

    ;)nice lip for a 6.5............
offset has nothing at all to do with brake clearance! common misconception. the wheel design has some effect, but any wheel made for 4x100 should clear the stock brakes regardless of offset. the only thing offset affects is strut tube and fender lip clearance.

Just remember that altering the front geometry will increase inner tire use,
and also put extra stress on the on the hard to replace front 4 wheel drive
components. Also 195/60r15 is your friend as it will help tuck in the wheels,
they will however leave the lip more vulnerable to "curb-rash"

That being said....your IX touring would look awesome with either your
Hartge [light weight!] or AEZ Radon [staggered goodness!!]
euro weaves are ET24 not ET26. they work OK on a stock car, but are less than optimal on a lowered one. having to downgrade from a 205 to a 195 width tire really sucks just so you can run a lower offset. I'd rather have an ET30 wheel and run 225s than have to run 195s on an ET13 wheel.

the primary issue on an ix is strut clearance on the front, and fender clearance on the rear. brake clearance is a non issue, and if the offset isn't stupid low they aren't going to poke that much. if you really want to push the limits of wheel and tire fitment, get some camber plates.

    these are 235/50R15s on 7.5 ET36

there is barely 2mm between the strut and tire. That is why the offset must be approximately ET33. I believe going down to a 225/50 would make it fit easily.

well allthought i get most of my inspiration of japanese cars.. because they have lot of lip on their wheels. also my style would be semi-race, like bbs, but im searching for different brand now..

Today's #FeatureThis submission comes from the always lively Pacific Northwest. The car in question is a 1973 Celica ST owned by Matt Panic from Seattle, and as the opening photo suggests, Matt's Celica is not your typical vintage cruiser.

You just can't hinder passion. It's always interesting to see how the love of cars has no borders, you can travel to any country around the world and find enthusiasts willing to share their love of cars with you. That is exactly the position Luke Huxham found himself on his recent trip to Thailand where he crossed paths with Mr. A, who has created a very special garage to store his precious vintage car collection and also create a place for his friends to hang out in.
