anyone have a ballpark weight for a complete m20 with m/t and t/c attached ?

Ix m20 weight

the transfercase is about 65lbs, the front diff is about 40.
the ix also has an aluminum subframe and other pieces that are steel on standard E30s.
I believe the engine is in a slightly different position - closer to the firewall. I haven't been able to confirm this though.
the other ~30-40lbs is from the front strut housings and driveshafts.

i finally found the fully dressed m20 weight at 360lb so less then 550lbs to lift as one peice

I believe you are correct, because I took the engine out of my iX for a rebuild and it seemed a lot tighter then the one I took out of a 325i (1989)[/SIGPIC]"we are so totally screwed!"
