    Removing entire drivetrain

I have an IX parts car that I need to remove the engine, tranny, and transfer case from. Can I pull this all just from the engine bay, or will it need to be removed from underneath? I'm just used to pulling a regular E30 drivetrain so this will be foreign.

I'm guessing the only difference would be I'd have to unbolt the front diff and front driveshaft..

it will come through the top but you will have to loosen the 4 bolts that hold the sub frame to make it come through. its probably easier to drop it out the bottom of the car with the front suspension.

Would it be better to remove the transfer case and pull it out as just transmission and engine?

Now if I choose to do that, I'm not sure how I'd drag the drivetrain out from under the car...I have jackstands high and safe enough to allow the engine to come out from underneath but no real clue on how to pull it out ha

with the car out of the way you can take it apart. or buy a couple of those $10 piano dollies from harbor freight.
