May be selling my 89 IX soon

Due to unforeseen expenses i have been considering selling my ix. I recently experienced a grinding or dragging feel to the right rear wheel when in motion, also I think I heard a pop sound when reversing to park it, I think it may be the brakes or calipers have locked or something hopefully not too major. I have gotten new rotors and brake pads but have not yet installed them. On top of that I have not yet acquired the funds to get the crazy rust in my floor board repaired. just when I began to drive it more frequently and enjoy it, I'm faced with another issue. I've started to feel like I'm sinking into the ix quick sand that just keeps pulling me down slowly. And I feel like once I get back on track financially I can possibly go for a more preferred manual ix rather than another automatic or perhaps an e30 325i or ic. Idk just venting a bit I guess and perhaps hear some suggestions for feedback. thanks.

Its definitely not easy trying to keep ahead of the missed maintenance from years of neglect from some previous owners and its especially not cheap. It might just be brakes or a wheel bearing but then it could even be the diff you just never know till you look into.
Is this your daily driver also?

the good news is that it's not my daily driver but it was purchased for that particular reason (to be my daily driver). I just see repair cost accumulating more than I anticipated

to bad you live so far away, if your were closer i would just say to bring the car up my way for a weekend and i could help you with the floor boards, with a good 2 days i bet they could be done pretty nice.

Would replacing the differential difficult? I need to spare as much cash as possible if I keep the car.

Does it make any sounds while your moving forward or backward or just when you shift? The diff was probably be the last thing I would check, but either way there still very easy to swap. Just take off the half shafts, 4 bolts for the drive shaft and 4 mounting bolts on the top and the mount on the cover and that's pretty much it.
