    e30 ix transfer case seal

Hey everyone I notice the seal on the front shaft is leaking on the transfer case. Can I replace this seal with the transfer case installed in the car ?

Of course first moving the drive shaft and etc.

My 4awd drive works that was tested its just the seal is leaking?

    Thanks

Well that sucks! If I have to take it apart I might as well replace the VC because the miles on my car is 220xxx and that's about when they go bad! :(

      front output seals

yes you can do the pair of front driveshaft output seals in the car ,did mine last year, just note one is in backwards and has the spring removed (basically becomes a dust shield) put tape on flange to protect seals as you install

No, this is wrong. you can install a new seal without removing the shaft. you need a pick to remove the old seals, and there's a special BMW tool that fits over the shaft to drive the new seals in (you used to be able to rent it from some places, or you could also make one most likely).

***NEVER MIND*** Total brain fart, got the input confused with the output. My bad, apologies.

Or maybe use a deep socket big enough to tap it in.
