    325ix 5speed Swap Details

So, I found a 5 speed trans for my '89 325ix for $300. It is in good, working condition. I'm a noob at bottom end info especially when it comes to swaps.

Can anybody tell me what else I need to make this manual swap possible? :nice:

I understand I need a new transfer case, etc. Is there a forum that lists the parts necessary to complete this swap?

    Thank you!!

You might want to cross reference with a parts catalogue but I think these are the items you need-

    IX specific:
    Clutch master cyclinder
    hardline from MC
    soft lines from MC
    Soft line to clutch slave
    Flex disc
T-case (front half is all that is necessary)
    tranny support bracket
    shift linkage

Plus all manual swap items that are not IX specific:
    shift boot/knob
    flywheel
    clutch disk
    throw out bearing
    clutch fork

tranny support brackets are the same on auto/manual ix's.

I don't think the ix clutch master/slave is ix-specific. the brake MC is. I don't think the lines are ix specific either.

you will need pedals of course. if you have an airbag car, just swap pedals from any airbag 5-speed E30. if you have non-airbag, swap the whole pedal box from any non-airbag 5-speed E30.

There's also a clutch switch to add for cruise control. the wiring is already there, it just has a jumper plugged into it. and of course removing the automatic start interlock wiring.

          Thank you so much guys!

What if I want to delete cruise control? Do I still have to add the clutch switch for it, or will it be fine with out it?

Also, is $300 for a working trans a good price?
