    whiteline aftermarket front swaybar

i had whiteline bars on my subaru legacy GT, and they made an impressive improvement, ive already upgraded my rear, and i know nando and the guys were discussing potential for the e46 front bar.. has anybody tried this one?

the price seems right.. are there any other options for front bars out there for the IX besides this? I've yet to discover any.. but wanted to pass this along in case anyone was willing to try it and shoot off some reveiws.

looking at that page I don't know what car that's supposed to fit. a swaybar that fits any other E30 definitely doesn't fit on an ix..

the E46 bar is not direct fit. it's really close but the bend isn't quite right. also, 24mm is way, way too big. the ix bar is only 17mm - that's something like 800% stiffer. :p

if I ever have time, I'm going to bring an ix bar and an E46 bar over to H&R and see if they can help.

yeah i remember we got into this on a separate thread. as for that whiteline, im not sure the picture matches the actual product, but it was saying that its IX specific, so im curious if they make them per-order, ive sent an email asking the detail. whiteline has tons of support for any application it seems, so i wouldnt be suprised if it actually worked. whats the diameter on the e46, isnt it something like 21mm?

it doesn't say it's ix specific - it says it fits 318is, 325is, 325ic, etc. and it includes the 325ix in that list. That says to me that they don't know anything about the ix and that it won't fit, not to mention that 24mm is way too big and I'm pretty certain nobody makes an ix specific bar.

the smallest E46 bar is 21mm, yes.

if I ever get the time, I'm pretty sure H&R may be able to help. I think the E46 bar could even be bent to the shape needed to fit the ix directly. it just has too much angle on the main hoop.

^ thats right, i guess what i meant about "specific".. youre likely correct now that i think it through. 24mm would certainly be quite, -over-steery- lol

Nando's correct on this one. I bought that bar back in september and had to send it back as it wasnt for an iX.

Ideally a 20mm or 21mm front sway bar with a 19mm rear is probably best sway bar setup for an iX imo.

I'm running an adjustable 19mm rear, stock in the front, 75D bushing all around minus motor mounts, and the front grip is awesome, yet it can be a tad inclined to oversteer if you're not pulling.

Exactly what I had figured. Thanks for that input!
