The iX was the 2nd most expensive E30; only the M3 cost more... that speaks to the specific parts involved in it.

Im not sure if anyone has said this yet but just think of it this way. Anything from the front seats forward is 99% IX specific. Even the seats since it has the bent adjuster to fit around the transfer case bump. It's fun, makes everything harder but once you get the car going the way you want it, it really is all worth it.
This was great to read. I have recently realized how much different the IX is and it kinda got me down, but after winter I will be back on it.

I never got it wired. I really want to but just haven't had the harness for it and had to take a break from the car. But soon I'll have the car at least on the road. Then I can start with all the little things to get this baby restored.

nice man, keep up the good work. I got my crank from an m54b30 x3. Did you ever figure out how to wire up the map light mirror? I just did that earlier this week on my car.

Here are the pics as promised

The crank as i got it

The crank out of the plastic

the two cranks sie by side the top is the 2.5 the bottom the 3.0

this is one clue that i think its already been to a machine shop

my other clue is as i stated the journals are smoother than a babies bottom

and i installed the actual bumper piece for when the car gets on the road i can at least drive it legally

also i need to clean this up so i can get the bumper bracket

if you know the part number of the bumper bracket that goes there let me know

awesome pic of the M20 without the rotating assembly looks pretty bad ass imo

inside of the intake manifold pretty clean

Correct me if im wrong but was my block cast 07/19/1988?

So I finally supplied the car with power and on board computer works perfect apart from the back light now working but it works no bleeding at all. And the car has a half tank of fuel Haha sweet.

After thinking about it you are probably right about studs. I really never checked into it. I will look into to it.

with this two studs are sticking out of the wing and on the rear there are holes. Now that i think about it i havent looked in the holes to see if there are threads.

On my euro Hartge H26 it had bolts on wing. E30 m3 on wings have studs coming out of wing.
