Does this make sense? I was going to install them, but I noticed that the ones I have in my car (were replaced by previous owner) are quite a bit thicker than the H&R sports I was going to install. I know the material could be different, but it just seems weird to pull beefier looking springs for some skinnier ones. I think they are oem (They are black with a Yellow brushed line). Is there any way that the OEM e30 IX Touring springs are beefier than the H&R Sports for the IX?

Hi, it looks like no one responded to you on this. But since it was years ago that you asked, I thought you may now have some advice for me. I'm looking for good replacement rear springs for an E30 Touring iX. I would like to maintain the stock ride hright as much as possible. I know the springs for the touring ix are unique to it, but I'm not sure what the next closest thing is. Many of the aftermarket springs have sufficient load ratings, but they don't have the height. Thanks!!

So I ended up putting the H&R rears in my car and it sat WAY to low in the back, so I stuck the springs that were in the car originally back in it...I don't know what they are though. They are black with 2 yellow markings on them (see pic). I think they are just Newer OEM ones...but I am unsure. With the H&R in the Front and what I have in the back the ride height is perfect for me.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty sure the iX Touring springs probably provided the highest and most heavy-duty ride, so I'm hoping to keep it that way as much as possible the H&R iX sport springs really do lower it quite a bit...even in sedan and coupe, so I think it'd be the wrong move for sure. I'm really struggling finding anything (globally, even) for new rear touring ix springs. Even H&R stopped making their OE springs for that model. I hope they haven't been given up on entirely!
