    Front Diff Power Handling...

With a spacer, proper care, and almost no launching, what can the front diff hold? 300tq? 400?

I haven't seen a lot of numbers on this particular topic. I know the rest of the drivetrain holds up very well, and that the front diff is our weak point. I'm aware of that 600-ish turbo monster eats one every week, but I haven't heard feedback from people with moderate builds....

Everything I've read about high power iX's said that they don't blow diffs unless launched hard.

Well, it's a small case diff, so power handling is very limited. I'd get concerned if it was getting more torque than an M42 puts out.

Seems like you would want to make sure that the VC is in good condition (to avoid getting 100% of torque thrown forward) and then you could reasonably expect to do something like 300whp.

Well its no question one of the weak points for the IX when it comes to high power. I would suggest lengthening the front drive shaft, a member here was and still maybe selling longer splines for them. As far as the diff i think The Dark Side of Will nailed it on the head. There are a few 500hp+ ix's out there but i have a feeling they keep a diff on spare.
