    Rear transmission seal HELP!

So I have my transfer case removed to install my z3 shift lever and replace the rear seal. Can anyone shed some light on what socket to use for the nut? I bought a GM oil sender socket but it is to small. Can anyone help!?

30mm thin wall 12pt socket ,also make sure you have some anerobic sealer for re-install ,goes on splines (you will see old sealant on flange splines once removed)

I used the 30mm axle socket but turned it down to reach in there. It has to be a thin wall socket or it will not fit.

Ok thanks everyone. I looked at my local sears and they didn't have a socket that big. I'll have to look around and find a 30mm deep and just grind it down. If I have any other questions about install and the sealant I will post back here. Thanks for the help!

Ok managed to get the nut off and the puller thing.. I removed the seal and am ready to put in the new one. My question is where do I apply the flange sealer?

clean old sealer off splines (both halves) ,install seal and then apply some evenly to very end of splines on trans output shaft and also down inside the leading edge of splines inside output flange. basically you trying to seal the spline area of the flange

and clean the grime off the seating surface of the seal before you install it.

Ok I'm putting everything together. And i was wondering if there are torque specs for all the guibos? Will it cause vibration if not torqued down properly?
