    IX skid plate

So we all know E30s are notorious for the low hanging oil pan and on the IX the pans are becoming more difficult to find, a pain to replace and as a result much more expensive. Does anyone have a line on a good source for IX skid plates? I know bav used to sell them but I am looking for something a little beefier for each of my cars. Thank you in advance!

are you off roading your car? if not, you don't need a skid plate. RWD cars have an oil pan that hangs way out front and below the subframe. I can't say I've heard of many broken ix oil pans. I don't think it would be hard to find a used one anyway.

all the skid plate is going to do is hang lower and add weight to the front of the car. in all the years of driving around a lowered ix I never hit anything with my oil pan.

But with a skid plate like that - you will want to run stuff over...
