Help me save a 89 IX before I part it.

Yesterday I bought a 89 325ix Auto. The guy I bought it from put a rebuilt head and gaskets on it. He also did the timing belt, water pump and a rebuilt starter. He said the car will not build oil pressure when running but if you spin the oil shaft with a drill you can get oil pumped up to the head. I pulled the valve cover off and the bearing cover for the oil pump shaft. When I turn the car over I can see the intermediate shaft and the oil pump shaft turn but no oil squirts from the head. Any one have any ideas on what to do. I would like to get this thing drivable. But if it comes to the point the motor needs a rebuild I will just part the thing out.

Anyways thanks for the help in advanced.

sad to see it being parted out ,something strange going on with the motor as to why it has no running oil pressure but does if pump is spun . least you 'll help keep some others on the road....

previous owner determined shaft spin direction (cranking ) and spun it with a drill the right direction and got out out of filter housing with filter removed ,so pump works and spins right direction ,but doesn't seem to build pressure while running i guess , they were watching for oil in head area and with filter installed and pump run awhile started to see oil up there but seemed to think there was none with engine actually running ....strange indeed

I bought the car this way. The guy I got it from bought it from a guy that said it died going about 40 MPH. It ended up messing up the timing belt. The guy I got it from found some things wrong with the head. So he bought a rebuild one. Installed new upper gasket set and head gasket. Put on a new water pump, starter and battery. Then he said he could never get it to build oil presser. So I bought it. Ended up having a good size rust hole under the plate. And another rust hole under the battery box I could stand though.
